technology influence
Of course, without the technology we could simply have not made the film. Nevertheless, specific parts were fundamental in the attempted portrayal of conventions. For example, the use of Final cut pro was essential in grabbing the audience’s attention for a variety of reasons.
These include:
1. The sound was able to slowly fade out which was done only thanks to final cut pro special sound effects.
2. Furthermore the use audio MP3 files gave an audience a deeper taste of what it would like to be in the scene for example in the bedroom scene the soundtrack of Pound Cake gave a soothing mood towards the audience thanks to the audio soundtrack.
3. Furthermore, use of the tripod was essential to the camera getting a clear view of some scenes which required focused attention to most effectively produce the specific conventions and ideology that our group wanted to portray.
4. The camera itself was useful because it did not require a spate microphone do record which was useful as it allowed the cameraman to be much more mobile and capture much more effective shots.
5. Finally the general facilities of the college such as they well ventilated room which had soundproof walls with separate dock stations enabled our group to work well as we had no distractions and could solely concentrate on making the best quality film possible.

issues
Entering text in the film was something we had
never experienced before we simply did not know how to insert the production
logo, writers, actors etc. We overcame this problem by consulting and querying
to the information
Setting up different files when saved was a
minor issue but we deleted all irrelevant files to erase any scares.
Entering the production logo was a complicated
task. We resolved after absorbing professional advise something in which we
have not chosen to do in the past and it worked out really well
The actual title logo copy right of image we had
to erase as an issue regarding copy right was raised and in order to erase any
sort of liability we decided to erase the logo completely
Rendering music was a problem until we realized what we had to do to render MP3 files after doing research on ask.com.
Missing editor was fundamentally the most psychological
issue we had as immediately question alarmed our consciousness into the seriousness of the project.
Detail into characterisation
Male:
A white
teenage boy who is an intimate relationship with his lover. He is a moral
teenager. Not really the richest or the poorest teenager but one who has been
brought up upon good strong family morals and takes education seriously. He is
serious about his relationship as in the narrative we see him chasing down his
partner when she receives an unexpected call and he is keen to investigate. He
does have a high temper as in the narrative he is heard to be swearing on
numerous occasions although he is in a very difficult circumstances. Appearance
is not a big issue for him as he is does not focus on spiky hair or popping
spots on his face and looks like just a normal down to earth guy.
Female:
The female
whoever is quite the opposite. Not only does she have another relationship
going on but she lies and attempts to deceive her lover. This in contrast
therefore creates good drama for the audience to watch due to the fact that
there are two very contrasting characters.
representational issues
As far as characters are concerned, there were
only 2 of them shown in our opening sequence. The first character in which I
starred as was a white male. He was stereotypically dressed as well wearing a Chelsea
coat of which the football club has a large number of white supporters
throughout its 100+ year history. We wanted to represent him as a typical white
teenager and I believe we done this successfully as we understood that not all
white people are “hard men”, by the time they are 16 so we had to slightly
adapt the way in which this particular character was being portrayed. The
character does swear in narration portraying the stereotypical rude white boy
who is raised in a poor estate.
The last character was a black female in
which the character was having an affair with. She had in traditional African
hair to show her background and mainly dark colours in which young teen
Africans enjoy wearing.
We are not worried about any sort of
controversial figures in this movie as our group is the one acting in it and we
make sure we do not represent any sort of political or racial message.

Costume (consisted of short sleeved navy top, navy baggy dirty jeans and black plimsolls) these were to also portray desperation and lack of preparation of the current time in the film where the character had firstly been in a rush and secondly been beaten up. The darkened clothes deceive the audience attention and make them focus later on in the scene on the make up (blood) on the characters face.
The female character wears a pink robe to stereotypically portray a woman in the bed scene, and leaves the house with a brown jacket, black skirt combined with black tights to portray simplicity as she is in a rush after receiving an emergency call.
unique selling point of our film
In our film, we have compared it a lot towards the Bling
Ring and especially to Kidulthood however, there are still factors that will definitely
sell the film and attract customers, reasons being:
1.
There is absolutely no budget, the movie is
filmed free and everyone can focus on producing the best quality film rather
than having to worry about costs, expenses etc.
2.
The movie is from an independent company. No one
controls the company and the company is not forced to make any rash decisions
or make any films they do not want to.
3.
The actors are completely new. This is an
undoubtfully controversial point. This is as all films are expected to have
someone in the star role to be famous, have a spray tan with blond hair and
lots of money. This is simply not the case here. Actors are all students who
are not famous. We believe this is an immensely large USP as it allows the
audience to enjoy acting at its best and really allow teenager has to see good
acting and not just to focus on a star that they admire.
4.
It creates future jobs, which no other profit
chasing film will do as successfully as. The actors, producers, editors and camera
operators can be spotted by a large company and be offered work. This would be
a huge boost in the current economic crisis.
